 The Meadow of Heavenly Rain
In a busy meadow beyond the forest floor,
The seed runs about and sings, God, let the Glory pour.
The former and the latter rain is falling all the while,
The Lord watches the children, on His face a wondering smile.
I wonder why they try so hard, He says, for something they possess?
When will they stop and see that Im right here and quit this endless quest?
The rain falls in the meadow but doesnt penetrate the shell
Of the busy seed whos praying, Oh, Lord when will you fill?
Im right here inside of you, the Glory tells them once again,
You can not earn my holiness or get it from a friend.
All the rain you ever need is at the flowing brook
Right here inside of you, my child, if you care to look.
The rain continues falling in the meadow by the forest floor,
The Father waits and watches for a open door.
The church cries out, Oh Father, fill our hungry souls,
As they run here and there looking for one who knows.
Be still and know that I am He, be still and let the river flow,
Stop and dissolve the hardened shell so the seed can grow.
I hear the seed still singing, Oh let the river flow,
I watch the strands of time twist and turn deep within my soul.
The watcher wonders how much longer as the months and years rush by~
The heart of man cries out for a crop as Jesus gently sighs.
Poets write, dreamers dream, Glory falls and seeds run all around,
The Father waits and watches for the fruitful field of His ground.
End times knocking at the door, prophecy flows ever on~
A dying world cant hear its cry or see how much life is gone.
The still, small voice, keeps calling in the meadow just down the way,
Its time, my friend, for us to listen and put the busyness away.
Time to quit running here and there and chasing after man,
Time for us to listen to the only One who can
Show us what to do here in the final days and nights,
Show us how to receive the raining Glory and to take to flight.
Oh, come fly away with me, Ill lift you on the holy wind~
Be still and know that I am He and we will be one again
