Yesterday*

Just yesterday You sent Your Son ~
to carry out Your plan.
Just yesterday the perfect Lamb
was sacrificed for man.

Just yesterday His power was felt ~
by all those, who were near.
The sick were healed, the lame could walk,
blind saw, the deaf could hear ~

Just yesterday He stood upon 
that hillside and He taught ~
the multitude who gathered there
to live the way they ought.

Just yesterday His Words rang clear ~
throughout the open air ~
Country, seaside, marketplace ~
He told why He was there.

God's only Son, His perfect Lamb
the Word in flesh that day ~
arms outstretched inviting them to come ~
He'd show the way.

Just yesterday His voice called out
He gently beckoned me ~
My spirit runs to meet Him
and all at once I'm free
