Check Your Lamp!

In response to all the talk about the last days. I was asking the Lord about the 'end' and being ready. I believe He showed me something about 'being filled' - it relates to the parable of the virgins and the lamps being full or not. His instruction was to keep the lamp empty of other things. Picture the lamp - then picture it with ... say ... some stones in it, some sand, maybe an old wick .... these things take up space, precious space that should be reserved for the oil. We must check our lamps - keep them clean! Have we allowed too much 'junk' - worldly garbage and influences to create clutter so that our reservoir of oil is low while we 'think' we are full? We know the Bridegroom cometh.... is there enough room in our lamp to contain a sufficient amount of oil to keep us until He calls?
Lets take time to think about what might be causing clutter within our 'lamps'. So many things. Bitterness, strife, anger, offense ~ what do we allow our minds to focus on? How do we spend our time? Who and what is most important in our lives? I pray that our lamps are clean and free of any worldly debris. And that they are filled with the oil of His spirit which will keep us until we hear His voice calling "Come Up Hither".
There is much talk about the end time, the rapture and the end of this millennium. There is speculation about the date of the rapture found by some using the Bible Codes. As for me, I would rather look to the day predicted - expecting, hoping and desiring the Savior's call, filled with anticipation as a Bride awaiting the Bridegroom - rather than - scoff at the findings - belittle the research and those who do the searching - and find that with blinded eyes and an empty lamp - I have been left behind.

Rev. 3:3
Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
