There are obstacles that confront us
daily at each
crossroad of life.
Like "busses" to other destinations,
they stop right in front
of us
~~ door open ~~tour guide beckoning us,
tempting us, to board --
to see where it will take us.
If we board we are moved down a different
road,
how far? how long? where will it take us?
The name of the destination may read -
"DISAPPOINTMENT"
"DEPRESSION"
"REJECTION"
"OFFENSE"
"ANGER"
"STRIFE"
"LOSS"
"?"
So many busses with so many unattractive labels -
why choose to ride one of these? And yet -- often we do. Seemingly unable to resist the ride.
We 'climb aboard' and ride
-- we ride out far enough and for long enough --
long enough to give us time to yearn for our own "road" once
again. Long enough for us to realize that we have taken a very wrong
turn. Finally we make a decision to stop going the wrong way and get back on the right road --
the road, or path that has been prepared for us.
Finally we are able, pray and praise once again!
The tour guide on these "busses" promises
fulfillment of our emotions! They tempt us to 'ride'!
They want us to give in to the emotion and 'ride' with them!
Let's just let that temptation pass us
by!
Let's stand firm in the knowledge
that Jesus is Lord,
that His Word is True
and that Holy Spirit strengthens us in all situations!
Not defeated! We can stand knowing that once
more we have resisted the devil and that he had to flee!
Isaiah 30:19-21
...thou shalt weep no more: He will be very gracious
unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when He shall hear it, He will answer thee.
And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity,
and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers: And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand,
and when ye turn to the left.
